MindGuyMD · telepsychiatry service
MindGuyMD provides comprehensive adult ADHD evaluation and non-stimulant treatment options. The practice does not prescribe stimulants or other controlled substances. When consideration of a controlled medication is clinically indicated, Dr. Vinuela can coordinate with the patient’s PCP or another appropriate prescriber, with written authorization. The outside clinician makes the final prescribing decision.
What adult ADHD care actually is
Adult ADHD care is a sustained clinical process: it begins with a comprehensive evaluation that establishes or rules out the diagnosis accurately, it continues with structured monitoring of treatment response, and it integrates evidence-based options in the order they fit your situation. Anxiety, depression, burnout, sleep deprivation, medical conditions, and medication effects can resemble or worsen ADHD symptoms. The evaluation uses careful history, collateral information, and the time to understand what ADHD looks like in your adult life.
What it looks like at MindGuyMD
Treatment at MindGuyMD is built around three commitments: an accurate diagnosis from a comprehensive evaluation rather than a checklist; a multimodal plan in which non-stimulant options, when appropriate, are considered alongside behavioral strategies and coordination with other clinicians; and ongoing monitoring that holds efficacy, side effects, and the broader picture together over time.
What to expect, evaluation onward
A comprehensive evaluation. A 60-minute visit that goes beyond symptom counts, including history, prior records, current functioning, and the differential between ADHD and what can look like it.
A multimodal treatment plan. Medication, when appropriate, is one option alongside behavioral strategies, environmental changes, and coordination with other clinicians involved in your care.
Ongoing monitoring. Follow-ups run on a scheduled cadence, typically 4 to 6 weeks to start, then spaced as treatment stabilizes. Each visit reviews efficacy, side effects, and what is changing.
The practice reviews the full picture over time and adjusts the plan when clinical needs change.
How Dr. Vinuela individualizes ADHD care
Adult ADHD is not one condition. The evaluation reads beyond the symptoms that prompted the call, including sleep, anxiety, burnout, depression, medical conditions, and medication effects, so the plan names what is actually driving the friction. Behavioral strategies, non-stimulant options, or coordination with another clinician may fit after the evaluation.
